It’s been a while since I gave an update on what I’ve been doing lately, so I wanted to do that today!

First of all, fall is here at last, and I couldn’t be more delighted! It’s always been my very favorite season. What’s more perfectly autumnal than a visit to a garden center to buy mums and pumpkins?

And of course, fall is a wonderful time to read. I recently pulled out a bunch of autumn-themed issues of my favorite magazines, including some from the 1990s. (Victoria, Mary Engelbreit’s Home Companion, MaryJane’s Farm, Country Living, etc).

Woods walks are even more fun at this time of year, with moss and mushrooms and wild apples to find.

We’ve been seeing (and hearing!) so many birds right now as they migrate. I was able to get pictures of a great blue heron and a hairy woodpecker!

As for bookish updates, I recently enjoyed Astrid the Unstoppable by Maria Parr (such a delight)!, and I just started a reread of Heaven to Betsy, as I often do at this time of year.

I’ve also been writing a lot lately, and over the last two days, I wrote 5,500 words on a few different manuscripts! (I also recently celebrated the release of my new book, Secrets at Sparhawk Point!)
